Decomposed Granite "DG"
Decomposed granite has three choices, natural, stablized, or resin-coated. Stablizers and resin provide a harder surface than can be treated almost like concrete. It can be used for outdoor furniture, firepit areas, or garden pathways. Decomposed granite is like gravel, but finer and generally naturally more stable. The DG sold for landscapes is typically three-eighths-inch (or smaller) particles. Some are no bigger than a grain of sand and the colors can vary from beige to brown.
WHY USE DECOMPOSED GRANITE IN YOUR LANDSCAPING?
DG is very cost effective and commonly used as a specific aesthetic to give the atmosphere of a natural path or sand.
This material allows for pets to use and is porous enough to allow drainage without the smell.
For a more outdoorsy conversation and fire pit, DG gives the effect of a natural look.
DG is easily maintained and if a stablizer is used, you can use even a leaf blower on it without disturbing it.
